Semimaraton Iasi is the largest running and charitable event in North-East Romania, initiated in 2015 by Club Rotary Iasi Copou. Through participation fees participants fund educational, health, and protection projects for disadvantaged children and gifted children's programs. 2026 edition: 26 April 2026, with a World Athletics-certified 21 km course from Palatul Culturii in Iasi. In 2025 the event drew 2,900 runners and raised 20,000 EUR. Distances: 600m kids & adaptive, 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, 21 km.
