We love running through Cluj… we're thrilled to run in the forest!
20 June 2026 · Cluj-Napoca, Cluj
Step out of the city and into Pădurea Hoia — Cluj's famously mysterious forest — for a friendly community cross. No ghost stories required: just shaded trails, cool morning air, and a whole crowd that runs for the joy of it. 13th edition, capped at 800.
The escape
Pick your run
Four ways into the woods, from a stroll with the kids to a lung-burning 15 km. Each timed course is marshalled and marked.
A relaxed loop for kids and parents — no timing pressure, just a first taste of the trail together.
The friendly entry distance. Rolling forest paths with a couple of cheeky climbs to keep it honest.
The crowd favourite. Long enough to find your rhythm, varied enough to keep every kilometre interesting.
The big one. Deepest into Hoia, the most climbing, and the best bragging rights at the finish.
Mystery & community
Yes, Hoia-Baciu is the forest the internet calls Romania's most haunted. We prefer the version where the only thing chasing you is a personal best. Crosul Hoia is a corporate-backed community run, powered by GlobalLogic, with 13 editions of shared start lines behind it.
Crooked trees, urban legends, and a name that's travelled the world — Hoia-Baciu is the most atmospheric place to run in Cluj. We lean into the mystery, hold the horror.
Powered by GlobalLogic, run by the Cluj community. Colleagues, families, clubs and first-timers share the same start line and the same after-race coffee.
More than a decade of Crosul Hoia. A tradition the city looks forward to every summer — and one more reason the forest feels like home, not a haunted house.

Four: a Family 1.5 km loop, a 3 km cross (+110 m), a 7 km cross (+200 m) and a 15 km cross (+350 m). Pick by how much forest and climbing you want.
Sign-ups open on 3 March and close on 13 June, or earlier if the 800-runner cap fills first. The forest fits a crowd, but not an unlimited one — don't leave it to the last day.
The start and finish are at Aleea Muzeului Etnografic, by the Ethnographic Museum in Romulus Vuia park, on the edge of Pădurea Hoia in Cluj-Napoca. There's parking nearby, but arrive early — it fills up on race morning.
Absolutely. The 1.5 km Family run is built for kids and parents to do together at an easy pace, with no timing pressure — it's the friendliest way into the forest.
A marked and marshalled course, chip timing on the timed distances, a water point on course, a finisher medal, and the after-race community atmosphere at the finish.
Hoia-Baciu has a worldwide reputation as a "haunted" forest — and that legend is half the fun. On race day the only thing you'll be running from is the clock. We promise far more shade and good vibes than scares.
800 spots, one legendary forest, and a start line full of friendly faces. Registration closes 13 June — or sooner if the cap fills.
