The championship

Two days of track racing

This is the annual championship at which Romania's national track titles are decided, run together with the paracycling championship. It is organized directly by the Romanian Cycling Federation under UCI and FRC rules.

The 2026 edition is held abroad, on the Kolodruma velodrome in Plovdiv. Official training, licence checks and the technical meeting take place the evening before racing, and competition runs between 07:00 and 20:00 on both days, followed by the award ceremony.

Programme

The events on the programme

Track cycling is contested on a velodrome on fixed-gear bikes with no brakes. The FRC technical guide lists national titles in two families of events:

  • Sprint events

Keirin, team sprint, individual sprint (200 m) and the time trial — 1 km for the older categories, 500 m for the youngest.

  • Endurance events

Omnium (scratch, tempo, elimination and points race), team pursuit, individual pursuit, scratch and — for women Elite and U19 — the points race.

Distances depend on category. Categories with too few entries race together, but results and awards are kept separate for each category.

Taking part

Licensed riders, entered by club

This is a federation championship — there is no public sign-up form.

  • Open to all riders of Romanian citizenship holding a valid licence, in the Elite, U23, U19, U17, U15, U13, Master 1–4 and paracycling (tandem, C1–C5) categories.
  • Clubs send their entries by e-mail to the federation on the official Excel form before the published deadline; no entries or changes are accepted after it.
  • Clubs must present their racing kit at the licence check, and a helmet is mandatory throughout training, warm-up and racing.
  • Supporters may watch from the stands only.
