Terms of use

Competi.ro is operated by ISOMORPHIC SRL (“we”) and is an independent, community calendar of running, cycling and triathlon races in Romania. By using the website, the app and our feeds (such as the iCal calendar) you accept these terms. Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy policy.

Some features need an account. You must be at least 16, give us accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

We do not organise the races in the calendar and are not affiliated with their organisers unless we say so explicitly. The information comes from organisers, public sources and the community, and it can change or contain mistakes. Always check the date, fees, rules and course on the organiser's website before you register.

Registration, payment and taking part in a race happen directly with the organiser, on their terms. Event names and marks belong to their owners.

You can add reviews, routes, highlights, comments, events and corrections. Your content stays yours. So that we can show it, you grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, technically adapt (resize, crop, convert) and display it on Competi.ro and in our feeds for as long as you keep it published.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies kept for a limited time and factual event information (dates, distances, places) you submitted or corrected, which stays in the community calendar.

When you upload a photo, you confirm that you took it or have the right to publish it, and that people clearly visible in it agree. Note that photos bought from a race's official photographer are often licensed for personal use only; do not upload them unless the licence allows publishing. Do not upload photos showing identifiable children without a parent's consent.

The licence above covers showing the photo on Competi.ro. Separately, and only if you tick the option when uploading, you also allow us to use the photo to promote Competi.ro and that event: on our social media accounts (for example Instagram and Facebook), cropped and with text over it (the event's name, date and course), always credited with your public name. We do not sell your photos or use them to advertise anyone else's products.

Consent to promotional use is optional and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting the photo or writing to [email protected]. From then on we do not use it in new posts and, on request, remove existing posts within 14 days. Each photo keeps the version of these terms in force when it was uploaded.

Do not publish content that is illegal, offensive, misleading or infringes someone else's rights; do not spam or impersonate others; do not try to get around technical limits, scrape data in bulk or disrupt the service. We may hide or remove content that breaks these terms and suspend the accounts involved.

If content on Competi.ro infringes your copyright or other rights, write to [email protected] with the page address, the content concerned and evidence of your rights. We review every notice promptly and remove unlawful content.

Some features use third-party services such as Strava, Google and map and weather providers. Using them is also subject to those services' terms. Data we receive from Strava is used only for the features you turn on.

Competi.ro is offered free of charge, “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for races being changed, cancelled or run, for information published by organisers or other users, or for injuries or damage during training or races. You take part in sport at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and we announce important changes on the site. Licences granted for photos stay those of the version accepted at upload. These terms are governed by Romanian law, and any disputes are settled by the competent courts in Romania.
