Descoperă Șamșud is the village's own cross-country mountain-bike day — a warm, community-run event in the hills of Țara Silvaniei, jud. Sălaj. Four ways to ride, a hot meal waiting at the finish and a welcome that's the same whether you race for the podium or ride your first XC event.

Every autumn, Șamșud opens its trails to riders from across the country. Descoperă Șamșud powered by Cupa Vlădeasa is a cross-country mountain-bike race through the rolling hills of Țara Silvaniei — but it's just as much a day out for the village, with local products, warm food and a finish-line celebration.
It's organised by Asociația Salvamont Vlădeasa Cluj in partnership with Primăria Șamșud and Bellotto, with support from Consiliul Județean Sălaj and Țara Silvaniei. Amateurs and professionals line up on the same start, pick the distance that fits their season, and share the same trails, the same feed stations and the same medal moment.

Long, short, e-MTB or a special course for the kids — every route starts and finishes in Șamșud, so families follow the whole day from the village.

Descoperă Șamșudul pe MTB prin Cupa Vlădeasa este un concurs de cross-country în comuna Șamșud, județul Sălaj, pe 3 octombrie 2026. Organizator: Asociația Salvamont Salvaspeo Vlădeasa Cluj, alături de Primăria Șamșud. Deschis amatorilor și profesioniștilor, pe MTB și e-MTB.
Trasee
- Traseu scurt — 27 km, +450 m. Limită 4 ore, PA1 la 90 min. 150 de locuri.
- Traseu lung — 54 km, +900 m. Limită 6 ore, PA1 la 90 min. 125 de locuri.
- e-MTB — 54 km, +900 m, doar biciclete pedelec; bateria nu se schimbă în cursă. 75 de locuri.
- Juniori 8–14 ani — 3–5 km, alături de un însoțitor. Înscriere doar la fața locului.
- Copii sub 8 ani — în zona de start/finish, sub supravegherea părinților.

- Online până pe 18 septembrie 2026, ora 23:30 (plata până la ora 24:00)
- Traseu scurt 170 RON, traseu lung și e-MTB 180 RON (18.08–11.09); 200 RON ambele trasee între 11 și 18.09, fără articol vestimentar garantat
- 250 RON la fața locului, fără kit garantat; juniorii prin donație, copiii gratuit
- Transferul înscrierii către altă persoană: 100 lei

- Ridicare kituri vineri de la 20:00 și sâmbătă 08:30–09:40 · ședință tehnică 09:30 · start 10:00
- Cască obligatorie pe toată durata cursei
- La precipitații abundente, traseul lung și e-MTB se înlocuiesc cu două ture de traseu scurt

Preluarea se face personal, pe baza actului de identitate. Tot in acest interval se accepta si inscrierile la fata locului (250 RON, fara kit garantat).
- 09:30Sambata 03.10 - Sedinta tehnica
Tinuta de directorul de concurs; prezenta este obligatorie. Se prezinta traseul, portiunile periculoase si eventualele modificari.
- 10:00Sambata 03.10 - Start curse MTB si e-MTB
Start comun pentru traseul scurt, traseul lung si e-MTB. Casca de protectie este obligatorie pe toata durata concursului.

Which route should I choose?
There are four options: a long route of about 54 km with +900 m of climbing, a short route of about 27 km with +450 m, an e-MTB category on the long route, and special short courses for kids. Pick the one that suits your fitness and your bike.
Can I ride an e-bike? What are the e-MTB rules?
Yes — there's a dedicated e-MTB category that follows the same long route (~54 km, +900 m). E-mountain-bikers ride and are ranked separately from the analogue long-route riders.
Are there routes for children?
Yes. Two special short courses are set out just for the youngest riders, with their own start and finish in Șamșud so kids can take part alongside the adults.
What's included in the participation kit?
The start kit includes a Bellotto cycling vest, Pro Nutrition supplements, local products and more, and every finisher receives a personalised finisher medal.
When does registration close, and is there an early-bird price?
There are reduced early-bird fees, so signing up early pays off. Fees rise in steps as race day approaches and are highest for on-site entry; kids ride free. Online registration closes on 18 September 2026 at 23:30.
