Descoperă Șamșud is the village's own cross-country mountain-bike day — a warm, community-run event in the hills of Țara Silvaniei, jud. Sălaj. Four ways to ride, a hot meal waiting at the finish and a welcome that's the same whether you race for the podium or ride your first XC event.

Every autumn, Șamșud opens its trails to riders from across the country. Descoperă Șamșud powered by Cupa Vlădeasa is a cross-country mountain-bike race through the rolling hills of Țara Silvaniei — but it's just as much a day out for the village, with local products, warm food and a finish-line celebration.
It's put on by the community: Primăria Șamșud together with Salvamont Vlădeasa and Consiliul Județean Sălaj (A.D.I. Țara Silvaniei). Amateurs and professionals line up on the same start, pick the distance that fits their season, and share the same trails, the same feed stations and the same medal moment.

Long, short, e-MTB or a special course for the kids — every route starts and finishes in Șamșud, so families follow the whole day from the village.

Descoperă Șamșud powered by Cupa Vlădeasa este o competiție anuală de ciclism montan (cross-country) desfășurată în comuna Șamșud, județul Sălaj, pe 3 octombrie 2026. Organizată de Primăria Șamșud în parteneriat cu Salvamont Vlădeasa și Consiliul Județean Sălaj (A.D.I. Țara Silvaniei), pentru cicliști amatori și profesioniști.

- Traseu lung — ~54 km, +900 m.
- Traseu scurt — ~27 km, +450 m.
- Traseu e-MTB — ~54 km, identic cu traseul lung.
- Trasee copii — două trasee speciale, pentru bucuria mișcării.

- Taxe reduse în perioada de înscriere timpurie (early bird).
- Kit de participare cu vestă de ciclism Bellotto, susținătoare de efort Pro Nutrition, produse locale și altele.

Which route should I choose?
There are four options: a long route of about 54 km with +900 m of climbing, a short route of about 27 km with +450 m, an e-MTB category on the long route, and special short courses for kids. Pick the one that suits your fitness and your bike.
Can I ride an e-bike? What are the e-MTB rules?
Yes — there's a dedicated e-MTB category that follows the same long route (~54 km, +900 m). E-mountain-bikers ride and are ranked separately from the analogue long-route riders.
Are there routes for children?
Yes. Two special short courses are set out just for the youngest riders, with their own start and finish in Șamșud so kids can take part alongside the adults.
What's included in the participation kit?
The start kit includes a Bellotto cycling vest, Pro Nutrition supplements, local products and more, and every finisher receives a personalised finisher medal.
When does registration close, and is there an early-bird price?
There are reduced early-bird fees, so signing up early pays off. Entry fees run from 50 to 150 RON depending on route, and registration closes on 19 September 2026.
