Semimaraton Iasi is the largest running and charitable event in North-East Romania, initiated in 2015 by Club Rotary Iasi Copou. Through participation fees, participants fund educational, health and protection projects for disadvantaged children and gifted children's programs. The event features a World Athletics-certified 21 km course from Palatul Culturii in Iasi; in 2025 it drew 2,900 runners and raised 20,000 EUR.
