Climb the loop, again and again
Șiria Vertical Loop is a timed vertical race set in the Munții Zărandului above Șiria, in Arad county. The clock runs for two hours and the format is simple: complete as many laps of the 2.5 km loop as you can before time is up.
Each lap carries +240 m of climbing, so the climbing adds up fast — finish eight loops and you have covered 20 km and +1920 m. Organised by ATIA (Asociația Turistică În Amonte), the race celebrates mountain running and the local history of the Zărand range.

About the event
Șiria Vertical Loop 2h — organizat de ATIA (Asociația Turistică În Amonte) în Munții Zărandului, la Șiria, județul Arad. Ediția a 9-a, pe 19 septembrie 2026. Promovează alergarea montană și patrimoniul istoric local (Cetatea Șiria).
Traseu
Se aleargă în circuit, pe o buclă de 2,5 km cu +240 m D+ (urcare de cca. 1200 m și coborâre de cca. 1300 m), între 219 și 463 m altitudine. Startul se dă pe platoul cetății, se coboară până la primul punct de hidratare, apoi urmează o urcare abruptă de 800 m până la cetate. Câștigă cine acumulează cele mai multe bucle complete în 2 ore; e nevoie de minimum o buclă completă pentru medalia de finisher, altfel DNF.

Every completed lap counts toward your result across the two-hour window.

Two hydration / refuelling points on the loop, one of them at the start, so you can drink and refuel between laps.
