The race

The national tour, 58 editions on

Turul României is the country's most important road race. The 2026 edition brings 25 continental, club and national teams from 14 countries to the start line across five stages and more than 800 kilometres.

The headline change is the Grand Départ. Stage 1 runs entirely in the Republic of Moldova, from Chișinău to Ungheni, before the race crosses into Romania at Iași. The route then works south-west through Piatra Neamț and the Carpathians to Brașov, and closes on a flat circuit in Bucharest.
