CR Șosea Seniori #2 / Turul Ciclist al Clujului & Trofeul Ardealul, editia 34 2026

One round of the season-long Cupa României de Ciclism Șosea.

11–12 July 2026 · Cluj-Napoca, Cluj

Cupa României de Ciclism Șosea is the Romanian Cycling Federation's season-long road series: a handful of open road races across the country, each hosted inside an organiser's own event. Every round scores points for U17, U19, U23, Elite, Master, Amatori and — where the organiser includes it — Paraciclism riders, building towards the overall classification.

About the cup

A season-long series, one round at a time

Federația Română de Ciclism (FRC) runs the Cupa României de Ciclism Șosea together with private organisers. Each round (etapă) is a road race — sometimes over one day, sometimes a multi-stage race over a weekend — on the host's own courses, under UCI and FRC rules plus the host's technical guide. Riders score in the round's classification (the general classification when the host runs several stages), and the points add up to the overall Cupa României standings, individually and, from 2026, by club.

How the cup works

Points, standings and prizes

Each round produces its own classification plus a separate Cupa României classification. Points from every round add up to provisional standings after each round and a final overall classification after the last one.

  • Points per round from 60 for the winner down to 1 point for 20th place.

  • To appear in the final overall classification, a rider must score in at least 2 rounds.

  • When a round is a multi-stage race, the host's general classification counts — and every stage must be started and finished to score.

  • Club classification (new from 2026): the points of all of a club's riders, across every category, add up.

  • Minimum prize money set by FRC at every round, equal for men and women: U23 + Elite 500 / 400 / 300 lei, U19 300 / 200 / 100 lei, U17 250 / 150 / 100 lei.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this the National Championship?

No. This is a round of the Cupa României de Ciclism Șosea, a season-long series of open road races. The National Road Championship (Campionatul Național) is a separate event that awards the champion's jersey.

Do I need a licence to enter?

To score Cupa României points you need a valid UCI licence (from FRC or another UCI-affiliated federation) and must give your UCI code or Federation ID when you register. The cup has an Amatori Open category, and some host races also run open amateur races — check the host's own rules for unlicensed entry.

How do I register?

Online only, on the host organiser's registration site (the Register button on this page). Entries open at least 20 days before the round and close no later than 2 days before the start.

Do I have to ride every round?

No — you can ride one or more rounds. To appear in the final overall classification you must score in at least 2 rounds.

How are points awarded?

From 60 points for the winner down to 1 point for 20th, based on the round's classification (or the general classification of a multi-stage host race). Ties are split by the number of wins, then second places, and so on.

Is there prize money?

Yes. FRC sets a minimum prize grid for every round, equal for men and women: U23 + Elite 500 / 400 / 300 lei, U19 300 / 200 / 100 lei and U17 250 / 150 / 100 lei for the top three. Hosts may add more.

Is paraciclism included?

At the rounds where the organiser includes it in the race rules, with distances per UCI Paracycling class. Each handbike rider needs a signal flag and a support car on course.

Where do I find the course and start times?

In the host's technical guide, published at least 20 days before the start, and on the host's official channels. Any late changes are announced at the technical meeting and at least 1 hour before the start.

One round. Every point counts.
