FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When does registration open for L'Étape Romania 2026?

Pre-registered riders from the 2025 edition can sign up between 8–15 June 2026. General registration opens to the public on 16 June 2026 at romania.letapeseries.com.

What are the three distances?

The Race (85 km, +200 m, 10:00 start), The Ride (42 km, +100 m, 08:30 start), and the City Adventure (14 km, +50 m, 07:30 start) — all on the same fully-closed circuit in central Bucharest.

Where do I pick up my race kit?

Race kit pickup runs on Saturday 29 August at the event village in central Bucharest. Bring photo ID and your registration confirmation. Day-of pickup is limited — plan to collect on Saturday.

What kind of bike do I need?

A road or hybrid bike in good mechanical condition is recommended for The Race and The Ride. The City Adventure welcomes any safe bike — gravel, hybrid, e-bike, or kids' bikes. Helmets are mandatory for all participants on all distances.

Are there age limits?

The Race (85 km) and The Ride (42 km) are open to participants aged 18 and over. The City Adventure (14 km) is family-friendly and welcomes riders of all ages — children must be accompanied by an adult.

What happens if the weather is bad?

L'Étape Romania has always been held rain or shine. Only severe weather affecting safety would cause a delay or rerouting; organisers will communicate any changes through the official channels and on-site PA.

Is parking available near the start?

Parking in central Bucharest is limited on race day because of the road closures. We strongly recommend public transport (metro/bus), bike-to-start, or staying at a partner hotel within walking distance of the event village.

What is the refund or transfer policy?

Refund and transfer terms are set by the official organiser. Check the L'Étape Romania official site (romania.letapeseries.com) for the current policy before registering.
