The race

Race the clock through the night

Sugas 24H is a 24-hour mountain-bike endurance race above Șugaș Băi, near Sfântu Gheorghe. From Saturday morning to Sunday morning, teams of two ride a single forest circuit again and again — one rider out on course, one resting at base — to complete as many laps as they can before the clock runs out.

There is no hiding on a 24-hour loop. Daylight turns to dusk, dusk to headlamp beams, and the ranking is written one lap at a time. It is a race of pacing, teamwork and stubbornness — raced not against a distance, but against the twenty-four hours themselves.

Format & circuit

One lap, ridden until the clock stops

Every lap starts and finishes at Izvorul Elisabeta (Erzsébet spring), the base for both riders. Teams swap on their own terms — the goal is simple: keep the wheels turning for 24 hours.

What to expect

Through the night

The race runs a full 24 hours — you will ride the same circuit in daylight, at dusk and by headlamp until Sunday morning.

Live lap counting

Every lap back to Izvorul Elisabeta is counted, so the standings move in real time as teams trade turns.

Base at the spring

Both riders share a base at Izvorul Elisabeta — the start, the finish and the place to eat, rest and hand over between laps.

Everesting badge

Reach 8,848 m of cumulative climbing across your laps and your team earns the Everesting achievement — a prize of its own.

The stretch goal

Climb the height of Everest

8,848

metres of climbing

Stack up 8,848 m of cumulative elevation gain across your laps — the height of Mount Everest — and your team enters the Everesting club.

At 232 m of climbing per lap, Everesting means roughly 38 laps of the circuit through the day and night. It is a stretch goal on top of the race for most laps — and it carries its own prize.

Prizes go both to the teams with the most laps and to every team that reaches the Everesting level.
